Geri Findlay

Managing Director

Geri has over 17 years’ experience working in the sustainability and certification field undertaking a number of corporate carbon footprints; supply chain reviews; ISO management systems implementation; and energy assessments for clients across a range of industries including public sector, transport, manufacturing, heavy industry and industrial fleet hire.

Geri has implemented a number of multinational greenhouse gas and energy measurement programmes including being responsible for the first Carbon and Energy Management Reduction Scheme (CEMARS) certified carbon footprint for MWH in 2008. In addition to consultancy, Geri has extensive audit and verification experience including working as an Assessment Manager for UKAS, Carbon Product Manager for Germanischer Lloyd GmbH and External Resource Auditor for BSI. Geri has delivered projects across a wide range of industries including public sector, transport, manufacturing, heavy industry and industrial fleet hire with multinational experience in countries including the UK, Germany, Benelux region, Sri Lanka and the Middle East. Geri is a registered ESOS Lead Assessor, ISO Lead Auditor and Project Manager with strong business and product development knowledge.

Jasmine Ayres

Jasmine joined Sustainable Footprints in 2021. She has a Level 3 qualification in energy management and is working towards becoming a Technical Member of the Energy Institute.

Jasmine has supported the technical delivery across many ESOS and SECR projects; as well as general energy audits. She now also manages her own portfolio of clients and supports them with their various needs.

In 2022, Jasmine was invited to speak at the national UCAS Discover Apprenticeships Conference. She has completed training on life cycle analysis; Climate-related Disclosures (CRD); and Task Force on Climate-Related Disclosures (TCFD). In addition to this, she actively contributes content for our marketing team including blogs and brief sheets.

She will be looking to gain ISO50001 lead auditor status in 2024.

Harvey joined the team in early 2022 as our Office Manager. His administration experience has been built with major national retailers and a property refurbishment business specialising in retrofit and energy saving works to heritage buildings.

He is a qualified higher level teaching assistant, specialising in SEN and additional needs; as a result he understands the importance of great communication, flexibility and team work.

With his natural passion and curiosity, Harvey looks forward to further developing his knowledge of the sustainability sector and the innovation we can offer clients and their teams.

Lucy Candlin

Consultant

Lucy is a non-financial accounting and assurance specialist with >19 years of experience in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions verification and advice. She is the Co-chair of the MRVA subgroup of the UK Emissions Trading Group. Since 2000, Lucy has been conducting verification audits for a range of programmes applicable to both large and small companies in the UK and elsewhere, including ‘climate change levy agreements’ (a form of energy efficiency related carbon tax rebate mechanism); emissions trading schemes; and mandatory emissions reporting. Lucy co-authored a guide for the World Bank Partnership for Market Readiness on the establishment of verification and accreditation systems for Carbon Pricing Instruments (2020) and is currently project managing/co-authoring a Technical Note for the World Bank Partnership for Market Readiness on developing emissions quantification protocols to support carbon pricing.

She has acted as a technical expert/accreditation assessor for the Irish National Accreditation Board and is a member of the UKAS technical advisory committee on management system standards where she has provided technical input for the development of ISO Standards such as ISO 14064, 14065 and 14066. She also participated in the BSI committee developing competence standards for UK Lead Auditors/assessors implementing energy audits under Article 8 of the Energy Efficiency Directive.

Kit started his career in Land & Property before joining a large malting business in 1992. There, he gained experience across various areas, eventually leading Environmental & Business Continuity efforts. Since 2008, he's leveraged his expertise to help organizations become more environmentally aware and resilient.

Kit assists companies in various disciplines, including developing and auditing management systems, ensuring compliance, managing environmental projects, and identifying energy efficiencies. His experience spans food & drink, retail, transport, and renewable energy sectors.

As an Environmental & Sustainable professional, Kit works with companies at all levels to achieve business goals through effective sustainability and environmental practices. He's recognized for guiding companies towards greater efficiencies, cost savings, and profitability through robust environmental practices.

Kit also supports BSI Training as a lecturer in Environmental and Asset Management subjects.

Claire Gomersall

Operations Director

With over 20 years’ experience of managing projects of all sizes – from concept through to delivery and having worked in the private, public and voluntary sectors, Claire's wealth of knowledge and experience gives her an excellent grounding for working with organisations of all sizes and across all sectors.

She is a qualified and registered Lead ESOS Assessor, Low Carbon Consultant and ISO 50001 Lead Auditor. She has worked with many organisations across a variety of sectors to quantify, manage and reduce their carbon emissions and energy consumption through ESOS, SECR and ISO 50001 Energy Management System audits and implementation as well as conducting gap analyses to produce road maps to enable businesses meet net-zero or gain PAS 2060 Carbon Neutrality certification.

Claire has organised webinars to provide information and advice on current environmental legislation, Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR), carbon footprinting and net-zero as well as writing and delivering an energy management for beginners webinar.

Junior Energy Manager

Matt joined Sustainable Footprints in 2023 as a Junior Energy Manager Apprentice following completion of his A-Levels in Business Studies, Geography and Philosophy attaining strong grades in each.

During his studies, his passion for geography and wider sustainability grew which sparked his desire to pursue this further as a career.

Matt is looking forward to growing his knowledge and expertise in order to support businesses on their journey to net-zero.

Ian Naismith

Ian is a qualified retrofit coordinator for domestic properties. He was the first one to register in Scotland with ECMK and Trustmark. He is an ESOS Lead Assessor and has completed the first and second phase audits for organisations across Scotland. Ian is also a domestic and non-domestic energy assessor with an interest in renewable and LED lighting.

Ian is a Chartered Energy Manager registered with The Energy Institute. He has been involved in the energy sector since he began employment at Ideal Heating in 1987.

He is an ESOS Lead Assessor and has assisted companies with the completion of ESOS phase 2 and the current phase 3.

His mission is to provide professional services that generate financial savings, reduce negative environmental consequences and create social gain.

As well as having vast knowledge in energy management, Ian also specialises in mechanical engineering including the production of design drawings, diagrams and schematics along with project specifications and schedules, whilst ensuring they meet relevant British Standards.

Gary has worked for over forty years’ in commercial construction working with major housed names specialising in low energy design, energy management and carbon assessment. Gary is an experienced Chartered Engineer with high personal standards and an attention to detail that has seen him succeed in both the private and public sector environments. This background of close working with colleagues and clients includes his appointment as the Energy Manager for the Metropolitan Police in London, ESOS Building Auditing, Interim Energy Management contracts, BREEAM In-Use appointments, SECR/Carbon Footprints calculations and ISO50001 Lead Auditing. This wealth of practical experience at all levels as well as academic knowledge can be applied to management systems and energy and environmental assessments of commercial properties.

Duncan Reed

Consultant

Duncan is a mechanical engineer with 30 years experience in manufacturing, dairy, food processors, commercial offices, schools and colleges. He has conducted > 170 Carbon Trust surveys and >20 ESOS compliant site surveys. He specialises in manufacturing equipment and industrial processes including boilers and heat processes; compressed air; pumps and fans; motors and drives; refrigeration; extraction; and heat recovery. Duncan is a qualified Mechanical Engineer and registered Carbon Trust Standard Triple Assessor (Energy /Water/Waste).

Callum joined Sustainable Footprints in 2024, bringing a wealth of practical experience in sustainability, having works across diverse industries in the UK and USA during his formative years.

Raised in rural Scotland, Callum's interest in environmental science, wildlife, geography, and travel inspired him to pursue a career in sustainability. He completed his undergraduate degree in Business Management in Edinburgh and earned a Master’s degree in Environmental Science in London.

Eager to make a tangible impact on the environment, Callum is excited to leverage his research and knowledge at Sustainable Footprints and contribute to a more sustainable future for our clients.

Barry has been working in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility for over 25 years. Holding extensive experience in CR/Sustainability benchmarking, producing CR/Sustainability baseline reports and specialises in writing CSR and Sustainability implementation plans for a range of clients, including FTSE 100 companies.

Barry leads on the production of client CSR Reports and has been integral to the public reporting of Speedy Hire Plc, Peel Holdings, Liverpool Airport, British Transport Police, FM Conway and Yodel, to name but a few. AA1000 accredited and a qualified Social Value practitioner, Barry can also accredit reports to the Global Reporting Initiative requirements and advise on structuring reports to meet those requirements.

Astley Fenwick

Astley is a professional electrical engineer and has almost 45 years’ experience within the building services sector and 30 years’ experience with industrial power and process control systems. His specialities include power distribution, lighting, motor drives, HVAC controls, compressed air systems, building services design and maintenance as well as running stakeholders’ engagement campaigns in his previous role as energy manager at GSK.

He is passionate about reducing energy consumption and improving sustainability to maintain the earth’s resources for future generations. His belief is that energy reduction should be a priority over renewable energy. That is to fix the hole in the bucket before pouring more energy in to make up for the waste.

John is an experienced IT Director and information security expert who is technically and commercially aware with a significant track record of defining, owning and delivering business change programmes which support and underpin business growth.

He is extremely skilled in managing key stakeholder communications and relationships through system and service improvement programmes together with many years of experience in leading and managing business improvement projects.

He is highly effective in providing consultation to the IT function building teams to develop, deliver and support robust infrastructure, technologies and line of business applications utilising the ITIL best practice framework.
