What is PAS 2060?

Claims by organisations that they are 'carbon neutral' are not always valid. Verification to PAS 2060 provides an internationally recognised method of verifying the accuracy of these claims.

The PAS 2060 standard was initially launched by the British Standards Institution (BSI) in 2010 with the objective of increasing transparency of carbon neutrality by providing a common definition and recognised method for achieving carbon neutral status.

PAS 2060 illustrates four key steps to carbon neutrality: measurement, reduction, offsetting and documentation. At the end of the process, organisations need to pursue third party verification from a UKAS registered verification body.
