You can’t manage what you don’t measure!

Managing your energy consumption and carbon emissions begins with accurate record keeping.  This spreadsheet template will show you the minimum information your business should be recording.  If your business is eligible for the Energy Savings Opportunities Scheme (ESOS) or Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR), these are the energy records auditors will expect to see.

This easy to use templates just require you to input the detail from invoices from your utilities, heating fuel, bunkered fuel and fuel cards.  In addition, it will also record your reimbursed mileage which is required for calculating energy and carbon emissions for your grey fleet.  The first sheet on the spreadsheet will automatically calculate the overall totals for each fuel type.

The Energy Consumption Record Template is the first step to calculating your energy consumption and carbon footprint.  The totals logged on this sheet can then be converted to kWh (for energy consumption) or TCO2e (for carbon footprint) using industry available conversion factors or by inputting to your CEn-Calc (available to purchase from the Sustainable Footprints Toolbox) which will automatically convert your fuel quantities into kWh and TCO2e.
